Re: 1000 Winward Concourse
Dear Gord:
I would like to thank you and everyone at Spider Manufacturing for your contribution to the successful completion of our new 250,000 SF Global Headquarters. As you will recall, our schedule was quite aggressive, the most aggressive phase being the build-out of 75,000 SF in eight weeks. Your Spider Boxes played a critical role in meeting this aggressive schedule as well as in the overall success of the project.
By using the Spider Box, not only did we meet our schedule, but we also saved money! Due to the "plug&go" concept of the Spider Box, the electrical connections were made in less than half the time of a conventional electrical distribution system. Instead of a crew of electricians installing junction boxes, pulling wire and making hard-wired connections; we were able to power the Steelcase furniture system and SMED lifeSPACE system with one electrician. The lead electrician feels that this is the electrical system of the future in office buildings and is eager to work on another project utlizing the Spider Box.
Due to the Spider Box, we have also realized reduced costs and downtime in reconfigurations. Can you believe we are already doing reconfigurations?! The flexibility to accommodate 4 circuit/ 8 wire of the Steelcase furniture system, single circuits of SMED lifeSPACE, conventional duplex outlets, as well as a UPS circuit, will benefit the facility operators for years to come. Since no wiring changes are required, the integrity of the electrical distribution system is preserved. Thus, as-built drawings are maintained.
It has been a real pleasure working with you and everyone at Spider throughout the course of this project. If all suppliers possessed your professionalism, courtesy, and integrity, I would have a lot fewer grey hairs!
I look forward to showing you the completed project next time you are in Atlanta.
Sincerely,
Allan D. Caddell
